Robert brought over the first of his “fleet” for its yearly cleanup and this ole beast needed a light polish on the hood and trunk to removed some light scratching. This paint is pretty soft and I think next year’s clean up will involve a Basic Detail instead of a Wash & Wax to breathe some life back into it.

Audi S4 - Opti-Coat Pro3
Kevin is probably one of the oldest friends I have since moving to the area. We met working at Ciocca VW back in 2011 and is still one of the few friends that have managed to put up with my crap and stuck around, for which I am appreciative of. You may remember his old S13 Nissan 240SX that was pushing 500 hp. I had coated that for him and he recently sold it to move on to something new. This something, is a 2014 Audi S4 with sport differential, DSG transmission, and alcantara seats.
It was clear that he wanted to keep this looking as good as possible since it would be his daily driver and this was around the time of the release of Opti-Coat Pro3. This is the thickest and most rugged coating from Opti-Coat to date and it was decided that the S4 deserved it. The previous owner claimed to be a detailer and I know I have heard that before so I wasn’t surprised with the swirls and marring. Kevin wanted the V6T badges removed from the fenders and he also had two nasty paint chips that went down to metal that I touched up with OEM paint pens.
I am anxious to see how this car holds up in the upcoming years of his ownership. Kevin is meticulous with his cleaning so I don’t have a lot to worry about but since Pro3 is new to me, I am still really curious. What I do know from application is that it is thicker and glossier and I have yet to be let down by an Opti-Coat coating, so bring it on!
Kia Sportage
Kate has been a long time supported and good friend and she recently got back from an extensive road trip, bringing a good sized bug collection back with her. Nothing a Wash & Wax can’t take care of, along with the removal of dealership decals. All good and ready for more adventures!
Tesla Model S - Optimum Paint Guard & Opti-Glass Pro
Tommy brought his new Model S over to be coated with Optimum Paint Guard and Glass-Pro. He leased this car to buy some time until the new face-lift Model S is released and that is why Paint Guard is such a great option. While it can last longer than the advertised three years, why spend money on something someone else will end up enjoying? I also recommend Glass-Pro specifically on Teslas because of the entire roof being glass…it is a lot of glass.
Ford Explorer ST
Aaron’s wife had visited last year with her Ford Edge to have some scuffs removed after an…incident…with a garage door and he decided to have his new Explorer ST come by for a Spring cleaning. As much as I love jobs that show polarizing before and after photos of messed up paint, I do love the simplicity of a Wash & Wax.
Every job starts off the same for me: cleaning the wheels with FerreX and the tires with Power Clean. Then I foam Power Clean over the exterior to soak into anything that bonded to the surface. I also use FerreX on the body and T.A.R on areas that may have tar thrown up from the tires. Once rinsed, I wash with No Rinse, followed by using an Optimum Clay Towel on the body to remove any contaminants that can’t be chemically removed (using Optimum Car Wax as a lube). Since the Wax is the lube, when I wipe the panel dry, the wax is already applied! Synergy is awesome.
