Tesla Model S 75D - Coating

My brother and sister-in-law recently picked up a new Tesla Model S 75D and of course they wanted to be sure their investment was properly protected for years to come. This meant two things: Opti-Coat Pro+ and Opti-Glass Pro. Opti-Coat Pro+ is a lifetime coating that comes with a 7 year manufacturer warranty and will protect from harmful chemicals and UV rays. Opti-Glass Pro is a ceramic glass coating that lasts about 2 years and provides some serious chemical and water resistance, which is good considering the entire roof on this car is glass.

Thankfully, this paint wasn't as soft as I had heard it might be and it polished out very well prior to coating. It was well worth the five hour drive to their house to get this done and I look forward to seeing it again and again! Thanks Nik and Michelle!

Volkswagen Golf R

Alex had me bring his Golf R back in for a clean up and this is an important post, not meant to embarrass Alex. CERAMIC COATINGS ARE NOT BULLETPROOF. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. Alex had a mark from he thinks was a leaf on his hood and after washing decided to clay bar the area. For me, not knowing the condition of the clay, it is hard to say what happened. But the end result was scratching. Luckily, it was the coating that took the brunt of the damage and not his paint.

I was able to polish out the damage and re-coat the area and all is well with the universe again. I will say that if he had consulted with me prior to the clay, I would have told him to wash the vehicle, use Power Clean on that area, and once all washed and dry, not touch it for a week. The sunlight would have acted as an exfoliant with the coating to shed the contaminants. Sounds like magic...and it really does work.

Live and learn! Thanks Alex, enjoy!

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S - Coating

Michael had brought me his E46 BMW M3 for a Dull Detail, his 2017 Audi S6 for Opti-Coat Pro+, and now it was time to bring his newly acquired 997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S in for a light correction and Opti-Coat Pro+, Opti-Glass Pro, and Opti-Guard Leather/Fabric.

I learn a lot with this vehicle mainly because of how newer Porsche black is to work with. It is very soft and this causes you to polish it differently. I was able to removed a lot of the oxidation on the car, which can be seen in the first photo because the previous owner had a clear bra on the front end for protection. I also removed the factory rear fender stone guards and replaced them with Opti-Coat PPF in the same shape.

The interior fabric and leather also were coated to help maintain the cleanliness and to prevent fading from harmful UV rays. The Glass was coated with Opti-Glass Pro for chemical and water resistance for about two years.

Looking forward to seeing this car out and about, as well as back in my garage any time! Thanks Michael, enjoy!
