Next up in the “fleet” is Robert’s daily driver. We remembered that last year I had said that this year would be more than a Wash & Wax. The car had a lot of hard water spots and some oxidation that needed to be taken care of and thankfully a Basic Detail was the right selection for that. There were a few spot where bird crap etched to the point of no fix but otherwise, this land yacht has a much deeper shine now and was finished with Optimum Car Wax, which has UV blockers in it to help prevent etching from happening.

Volkswagen Golf R
Adam’s Golf R was coated two years ago and he has done a great job bringing it back for its annual cleaning and inspection. He usually adds a Full Interior detail while it is here and this year’s pollen made both inside and outside a mess. Now the car looks like it is ready for car show season! Thank you Adam; always awesome to chat with you when you stop by.
Volkswagen Golf Alltrack - Opti-Coat Pro+
Finally…time for my own vehicle! My Alltrack was involved in a small collision back in January which resulted in the rear bumper and hatch being replaced. It was the end of February by the time the repair was completed and for me, the rule of thumb is to wait about 30 days after paint before coating. Well, those 30 days turned into almost three months and here we are.
After a decontamination wash, the rear bumper and hatch were polished to prep the surfaces for coating. I am so thankful to have had Josh at Croll’s Customs do the work and there wasn’t any major correcting that needed to happen. Now the back matches the rest of the car and I could finally put on the OEM bumper protection plate to make sure nothing dings up the bumper. Lastly, I coated the new tires with Optimum Tire Protection and Coating for six months of shine.
Porsche 911 Carrera 4
Always a fan favorite, the Porsche 911. Although, the 996 might be one of the least favorite of the purist but I do not discriminate against any of the rear-engine beauties. This Carrera 4 has the factory Aerokit installed and Sport Design wheels for a very period correct look on the 16,000 mile car. Similar to the SL550, just a wash and reapplication of wax is all that is needed to maintain this beauty until next year.
Mercedes-Benz SL550
I almost feel weird making a blog post about this car because it needed nothing other than a wash and reapplication of wax for the year. It only has 20,000 miles and is in really great condition. I am sure when I see it next year, it will still only have 20,000 miles!
